Vecindo (from "vecino" — neighbor) is a hyper-local business directory built for Jacó Beach, Costa Rica. We exist because tourists deserve accurate information and local businesses deserve to be found.
Unlike static directories that go stale, Vecindo uses an Active Business Engine — a system of community pings, owner confirmations, and moderator verification — to ensure every listing reflects reality. If a business closes, we know. If it reopens, we know that too.
We believe local knowledge should actually be local. Vecindo is built and maintained by neighbors, for neighbors — and for every visitor who wants to experience Jacó the way locals do.
How it works
- 📍Businesses are listed with hours, contact info, reviews, and a real-time freshness score.
- ✅Monthly pings verify each business is still open. No response? The listing fades.
- 👥Community moderators walk the town, verifying on the ground what no algorithm can see from a screen.
